Have you started a checklist on returning to salon life?
You might not want to hear this but it needs doing!
I sure don't want to be in a panic and flapping. So here it is I'm sharing with you my anti-flapping list. {Of course this is all preparation of the government guidelines when allowed to open.} this could all too change too. #PREPARATIONISKEY
1. What PPE will we need to order? [currently ordered visors and reception desk protection] mask compulsory if needed. Take online course in H&S plus hygiene course.
2. Stock ordering? [before the rush] salon sundries fill up and re-stock etc... plus anti-bac cleaning products too.
3. Salon maintenance jobs - check things our in full working order before opening. [sos call to the Plummer] my biggest nightmare.
4. You and your team have a plan ? If needed to work in shift patterns to keep to one stylist at a time in the salon. [work together what shift will work better for life's]
5. Online appointment system is prepped and ready to go. [turn the notification messages back on] once your clients our organised.
6. Get your Social media post, ready to explain how things may be in the salon on their visit to minimise cross infection. Plus get copy and paste message templates ready to kick into action regard to any inquiries to ping across when you get extremely flat out.
7. Plan and organise your priority list for your clients -minimise the confusion for yourself.
My list will be…
-First priority will be Clients who have had to miss hair appointments during this time
-Clients who already have appointments- [may get ask to move around due to shift work or overflow]
-Clients who our within their skin testing, our previous clients.
-Will not be taking on new clients without skin testing and consultation which will be limited to allow for all of the priorities above.
8. Organise myself which includes food prep in my freezer is full, ready to grab and go for them late night shifts. [we will need fuel to keep us in action]
9. Clear and sort any salon paperwork up, apply for your self-employed allowance claim whilst we have time.[Don't know about you these things for me take time and I do not want to be worrying about them whilst flat out focusing on work].
10. I have to prepped my loves ones for doggie sitting if need too, or maybe in your case child care, plus organised my appointment for beauty treatments. [we need our treatments too] we still need self-love.
11. Use this time wisely learning new things education session /live pod‘s, ways of adapting to keeping our brains working. (personally I been doing loads on L’Oréal access)
12. Keep your social media accounts going,
keep the contact going online (people want to see it more than ever right now).
If your running out of idea‘s go in the your archive and do some digging on old post, maybe old stories...(I found loads) !!!
13.Last but not least, I am going to try and take back some things in to my work life.
The things I have learnt during this time in lockdown.
This includes better food eating habits, eating before 7pm.
Give myself more time to process thing, no rush in life.{take care of yourself}
Hope you find this useful, and help eases them flapping Annie's in you, just remember we've 'got this together #stylistsupportingeachother
