So where our we all with things ? {scary rumours on how we are going to get back to it}
Currently myself feeling very confused about it all, and when I feel like this, I go in to brain frying overload.
So writing this blog is helping loads for me to plan it out and load off them niggling thoughts with all, i'm sure you agree we all need this sometimes!
Ok I am going to say it like it is = the things which were probably going to hear along this journey back to real salon life. So forgive me now lol !
Everyone is going to be a COVID-19 expert saying things we already may have heard a hundred of times (remembering we know our guidelines on how to behave and protect our selves) if you don't I've been following NHBF social media post very good informative info.
Plus on L'oreal has put a very excellent reading guide for us to do some prepping on the L'oreal access platform.
SALON LIFE
Client demand is going to be a hard one to deal with due to the restrictions, So we need to set the pace, try not to be that people pleaser (very guilt of this one) you can only do what you can do!
Don't be forced by Miss forceful from down the road who only wants her roots doing that's all, (honestly) you get my drift on this one! This could be the time when she can politely wait her turn. Because more than likely it will never just be roots now, colour correction alert!!
Remembering our job role has a "hairdresser/colourist" fears of professionalism going out of the window due to demand. Don't let this stop your game strong professionalism go. STAY PRO-PROFESSIONAL.
Emotion of the Salon, we our going to get some ups & down stories during this period from people. Hard one when all I want to do is give people hugs and comfort them.
For me as a stylist it's going to be hard due not be able to talk to much.{work on hand signals & our facial expressions} possibly ?
I am a sucker really I wish I could help everyone and I end up burnt out with it trying my best to do this. {note to myself know my limits on what I absorb in} I must must try!!!
Working with the mask!
Working in our mask and visors, feel like we will have to give ourselves plenty of breaks too breath.
Sharing some Tips possibly on wearing face PPE.
*Start practicing wearing mask now and get your most comfortable position to wear.
*Possibly Wear no make-up from nose down causes more mess.
*Good plan for your skin care routine {due to mask leaving bacteria on your skin} avoiding unwanted pimple visitors.
Please anyone reading this feels more tips could be added, drop a comment below, more tips the better.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Anyone else getting niggles with it like me since our last update, its the pressure I feel local businesses our under. Which rules our they following and our they right to do this ! Our they allow to adapt like this, sure they have done their research.
My thoughts
Leave them to it !
What ever they our doing is their choice!
I am and your doing your thing, sailing your own business wings through this COVID-19 time.
My Social media pressure at present our bigger than ever for me, running out of content idea's, stock piling my hair pictures still. But I did do my first IGTV, enjoyed the new Challenge, give it a whirl!
Always better for the learning and growing in the digital world. Not too scary just time consuming, sure it will get easier with practice. {fingers crossed} making the most of this time to practice more. Also I am taking time to detox from the media platforms keeping a fresh mindset toward it. Find it all too easy to compare and this doesn't help me focus to my social media page goals.
Less is more, use this time to value your input and information. ‘think what’s your intentions and purpose to posting’ ‘what‘s your game plan‘
Leave you to it with your game plan !
Please feel free to share with me any of your thoughts and tips remember we our "in this together"
See you on the next update, still 'caffeine free' Rebecca
As always, do follow along on on instagram for more behind the scenes.
