'Hair Preparation' coming out of lockdown!

Who's excited? Our you ready for your next hair appointment ?

Let's chat a few things to help 'you & your hair' to be back ready for action in that salon chair!

-Very boring bit..... 'ALLERGY ALERT TEST' must be done 48 hours prior to any colouring services, not too missed especially if you've had the COVID vaccine too.

-Plan your hair appointment, have you spoken to your colourist? Do you need to let them know of any hair changes? Thinking of having new colour? New style?

Let them know when booking, give them notice so they can book enough time out for you!

Sure if their like me as a colourist they will be prepared with timing's on booking's and allowing extra for them 'RONA ROOTS'!

-You thinking of new 'hair journey's' ahead for yourself, have you started collecting some pictures idea's? Ready to show visually what you're thinking change wise.

I love seeing pictures as reference it really helps to see what my clients vision is

on what they our wanting for their hair.

This also gives you a better chance to explain things, plus giving you both a chance to compare notes on your own hair's ability's to achieving the best possible results for you and your new hair journey!

-Root sprays, root cover up sticks, pen, crayons!

1 week before stop using and wash your hair a few times with detox shampoo or {make your own detox mask DIY below} this remove's any wax residue that it may leave on the hair. This wax residue will stop/block your colours from not working and covering to the best of their abilities due to causing barriers on the cuticle, the hair's top layer.

-Anyone using anti-bassy product? E.g. silver shampoos/toners ?

Give this a break 1-2 week before, so your hair colourist can see the true hair colour without it looking demished by the effect's of the shampoo/toning products, equaling to better colouring results on the day.

Detox.....A biggie for me! The Gains!!! our huge for doing this, better colour results, improve's the feel of your hair condition, looks shiner healthier plus brighter! Removing any dull, murky residue on the hair!

So get detoxing... Comes with a caution like anything ladies! don't over detox just 1-2 times before hair colouring to any remove water impurities or any build up of products like roots sprays or anti-bassy agents!

For heavy build-up of products/anti-bassy a deep detox will work wonder's or for lighter build-up a simple detox shampoo will help do the trick! (listed below)

DIY DETOX MASK METHOD & INGRENDENTS

-In a small Bowl mix the Shampoo you would normal apply with 2-3 tbsp spoons of baking powder mixed together!

-Apply on to wet hair (avoiding the scalp area) and gentle rub through your mid to

lenghts-ends in sections, leave for 5-10 mins, this will just gentle help to remove any build up from the hair, without harm.

-Rinse out & Shampoo afterwards, process with your usually conditioning routine.

Remember comes with a caution, only 1-2 times is needed you really do feel the benefits!

Best detox shampoo recommendations for light frequent use would be

L'Oréal series expert Pure Resource gentle cleansing shampoo with a delightful lavender scent to it too! (currently sold out on my website sorry, available in other online stores)
